CysDBase: Database Collection Of Cysteine Post-Translational Modifications

CysDBase is an database collection of cysteine post-translational modifications, namely, Disulphide, S-glutathionylation, Metal-binding, S-Sulphenylation, Thioether, S-Nitrosylation, S-palmitoylation and Thioether. This is the first database to store the information of Thioether and S-sulphenylation modifications on cysteine.

Search input: UniProt_ID; PDB-ID; Cell Organelles; Biological Pathway; Genus name of the organism.

Output: Cysteine_Residue, Cysteine Post-Translational Modifications, Sequences, Location, Pathway, PubMedID, PDB_ID, Buried Fraction (Bf) and rhpy (Relative Hydrophocity)

Biological relevance: Molecular mechanisms and pathways, corresponding to protein cysteine post-translational modifications, can be curated from this database. For the first time, protein microenvironment is computed and reported around cysteine modifications, in this database.
